12 years in Software is longer than life.  If you remember, 12 years ago we had Windows 98 and Windows NT.  We had modems and AOL.

To edit and combine images for WordPress articles I needed some professional imaging software.  Plus, I  needed a software to edit and save my ICO files,  and for the first time old MS Paint couldn’t do it.

I picked Adobe Photoshop 6.0 of a dusty shelf and prepared for a disappointnment.

Photoshop 6.0 easily installed on Windows 7 64-bit (and even on Windows Server  2008 R2), and begin to work without an error or complaint.  Through multiple plug-ins it now can do tasks that didn’t exist 10 years ago.  Through it powerful interface it still does imagery that captivates the eyes.

[2010-11-19 FR  09:56]  Yesterday I ordered a Adobe 30 days trail for Adobe Design Premium CS5 for $10.61. (http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/trial/faq) It includes  many programs, but Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro is not included.

Meanwhile, I am continue  to dig into magic of Photoshop 6.0.  Most amazing features are masking using one of the RBG channels (to utilize contrast to make easy selections),  multiple blending options, text transformations, and color adjustments.
