Game Overview

It is actually exiting to write about today’s game.  It was very likely the last game at Warren, and tomorrow we would find goals locked and would have to move to Newton South turf field.  But the weather and sun makes the grass absolutely fantastic and green and soft.  If only a bit muddy in spots. 

DARKs opened the score-board, but after that, all the time they were struggling to catch-up.  Score 2:1 for WHITEs was holding for over 40 minutes and finally WHITEs “broke the silence” and scored the third.  That was the key goal, and DARKs were never able completely recover from the shock of that goal.

Lenia Ch. as usually amazes with level of effort that he brings to his team.  He starts in the goals and then appears in all the “hot spots” of the game right at the  critical moments.  And two goals that he scores was a welcome addition a total family of 6 goals for WHITEs.

Game Timeline

09:58 – 0:1 – The one and only time when DARKs were ahead – Alex Grt intercepted, Dima K. gave a pass and Ezio scored 
10:00 – 1:1 – Ilya L. served in the box but both defender and GK failed to stop the ball.  It went right in.
10:20 – 2:1 – 20 minutes later Lenia Ch. scores on rebound and both fall in ecstasy on the ground
11:01 – 3:1 – 40 minutes later – Misha G. – first foal of the season!
11:08 – 4:1 – Max scores (he joined later to equalize the teams) in to the near post – devastating!
11:11 – 4:2 – Dima K. just started playing after staying in goals for a long time, Dr. Yurik served a nice clean serve, and Ezio did a clean nice header on unsuspecting Arkasha B. 
11:21 – 4:3 – Ezio was serving a corner, Dr. Yurik was shooting and Sergey K. scored on a crazy rebound. Can they tie?
11:28 – 5:3 – Vladis Sh. served and Arkasha B. score with his back
11:29 – 5:4 – Who scored this one? – Let’s give it to Dima K., but please claim if this is a mistake!
11:30 – 6:4 – Oleg gave a pas between defenders, and Ilya L. intercepted, gave to Lenia CH. and score!
