Eustace Tilly was far removed from the cabarets and night clubs that characterised society in that era. Finally, lack of organisation turned the magazine into something of a joke. A single poem was once reprinted in two separate issues, George Eliot’s name was spelled with two ‘l’s and a building located at Sixth Avenue and 54th Street was reported by The New Yorker to stand at Sixth and 55th.
